It is also an excellent alternative to brick if you want a privacy wall or boundary wall that is less formal than brick. Stone is often overlooked for outdoor stairways, which can be used to connect various levels of a terraced yard or as a beautiful entrance to a house. When the proper material is selected, a stone stairway is no more prone to slip or trip hazards than any other material, including brick, wood, or concrete.
